Omtale:
Daughters Of Davis are two sisters, Adrienne and Fern Davis, who write music with an acoustic soul/folk vibe, a fresh and innovative sound that plays with harmony and counterpart melodies.Tony Cummings of CrossRhythmns sums up this album: "It's not easy to be British and white and sing soul music convincingly but these two sisters from Winchester pull it off admirably. Their approach to the soul genre nimbly sidesteps the pitfalls of the blue eyed soul subgenre so there are no cover versions of old classics, no parping horn sections and no over reliance on production trickery. Instead, producer Andy Baker has given Adrienne and Fern stripped down accompaniments, sometimes with just an acoustic guitar and a shaker to underscore the rich dynamics of the two sisters' voices. Currently my favourites are the opener Where Do We Go and the joyful Take My Soul (a line from which provides the title to this album). Clearly Adrienne and Fern Davis are highly gifted songwriters as well as singers and with their hard gigging work ethic they deserve to establish themselves in the mainstream as a top act."
