In 1981 when Louise Purvis organised the first meeting of Prison Fellowship in Scotland, she little knew what she was taking on.As secretary and then co-ordinator of the work of visitation in 18 penal institutions, it became virtually a full-time job.Taking probationers and remand prisoners into her home was a further example of a commitment which went beyond duty.The work has grown since those small beginnings, with over 30 support groups and a full-time director.Now you can read about the results of that work - stories of ex-inmates, prison visitors, warders and some 'lifers'.
